back at it
i was craving the routine of school and work and daycare again just because i was going a little stir crazy in the house.
what was i thinking????
the transition has been fine, but i forget how much LESS time i have when i'm working all day and having to attend to life in general between 5 and 10 at night.
two nights ago i met with the moms i've formed a playgroup with. for the first several months, when the kids were realllly little we religiously got the kids together. now we just go out for ice cream or dinner after everyone's in bed (kids) and chat because who knew that trying to talk to another adult when you have to watch your own almost 2 year old would be so difficult?!? so it's fun. we all have kids born within a few weeks of each other and it's amazing to hear how different they all are. two of the moms are due to have their second babies this spring. we're planning on getting the boys and Ellie (there are 4 boys and 1 girl) together for their birthdays in March.
then last night it was baby talk all over again! my friend carrie went into labor monday night and had baby jaiden on tuesday morning at around 11 am. so, i drove up to central dupage hospital to see carrie and jaiden. what a doll. huge dark head of hair (more than jack has now, actually!) and precious. i forgot how tiny newborns are, and she is bigger (8lbs 11oz) than Jack was at birth, so Jack was even smaller? doesn't seem possible.
so tonight is jack's first "mini-gym" class, or my attempt to get him running around in a place that's not my house. i'm excited. i hope he has fun. it's fun to watch him interact with other kids. he's so interested in them.
and this weekend!? catye is coming to visit from grand rapids michigan and our friend rob (yes, tivo, iTunes, netflix recruiting rob kass) is driving down from buffalo grove and we're going to hang out with jack on saturday and then the adults will go to the melting pot for some fondue on saturday night. and it's a long weekend so we have plenty of time to catch up! :)
ok. back to your regularly scheduled programming.

nina brought lily to my school yesterday and she had a GREAT time running the halls. it must have looked like the widest open spaces she's ever seen!
FYI, I will be bringing my ventriloquist dummy as well, so please be sure to make room for his cedar traveling trunk.
THX!
Sounds like a busy week. Enjoy your weekend!
Sounds like lots of fun things planned!
