i came across this way cool service- Pandora. you put in a song or artist that you like and it finds similar music for you to listen to. so far it's been pretty right on. you can use the free version, with ads, or get it without ads for $3-$4 a month.

of course, i put in r.e.m.

i think this could become my random obsession now. :)
