mother's day...

... was spent with my father in law! go figure. actually, the plan was that mike was going to take jack out to breakfast with granpda so that i could hang out here at the house by myself and do my own thing... but... mike got sick on saturday night, which spilled into sunday, so jack and i went to grandpa's to visit. i still got some alone time because while jack was napping i went to old orchard and shopped (well, browsed, i didn't buy anything) and went to see united 93. (which was pretty good, but if you get motion sick easily, don't see it- i had to walk out of the theater, get some air, and go back in)... we all ate lunch at noodles (before shopping, etc.) and i picked out a planter at Jewel (for our porch) and then we headed home...
jack made me an adorable little handprint in the clay-painted with glitter gift for mother's day. very cute. i'll post a pic, but i need to get it off my camera first.

... and then we all went to menards and costco to check out the playgrounds. i think we've decided on this bad boy. although we want to cut out a piece of grass and mulch underneath so it's not such a hard fall... it'll be a bit of work, but worth it in the end to have a place for the kids to play right in our backyard, viewable from the patio and kitchen.

oh did i say, kids? yes, that's right. we're expecting another baby in early December!
