"I have two runny noses, Mom-eee"...

says Jack to me earlier today...

He was home sick today with a nasty nasty cold. He'll be home tomorrow too because the fever he had all weekend is still around. The Dr. said he is fine, it's just a virus, but that kid is sick.

You know he's sick because...

... he sat still long enough to watch a lot of TV today.
... he was getting annoyed enough at his 'two runny noses' to stop playing to get tissues and try to blow his nose.
... he only ate a small bowl of cereal tonight, after which he just started bawling because his nose was 'too runny'... and he was 'so, so cold'...
... he asked to go to bed at 6:30 tonight (we usually struggle to get him in bed by 9:00!)
... he asked to take a shower instead of a bath. then stood there for 3-4 min. and just let the water run over him.
... he only wanted one story tonight (not 4 or 5, or a drink of water, or medicine, or one last look at baby charlie...)

poor baby.

if you ever saw the "friends" episode where monica was sick and she goes "you wanna get with this?" - he sounds just like that!

i'm digging out old cds from college- and reminded myself how much i reallllly liked the band blur back in the 90s. still like them, just haven't thought about them in a while. you know how a certain song brings back a flood of memories? some of those blur songs totally bring me back to 1994-1995. good times.
