mama pride...
so today charlie entered the diaper derby as part of naperville's last fling celebration... part luck, part apathy from other contestants, whatever the case, little chuck was the 2nd fastest crawler there!
big brother jack was cheering him on at the finish line, waving his shoe at him.... which was the one thing that got charlie fired up enough to tear down the course and to jack... in the picture above is his friend ryan (on the left) who can do a mean army crawl, but was completely overwhelmed by all the kids, and on the right is our neighbor, Christopher and his mom Joanne. Christopher is just a couple weeks younger than Charlie...

so in addition to charlie's nice yellow ribbon, he gets to ride on a special float in the last fling parade on monday! big times for a little man...

and last weekend we wanted to see a part of berwyn's history (and wayne's world history, which we were more excited about) and visited the spindle on cermak and harlem. (just at that intersection in a strip mall parking lot)... it was pretty cool and jack thought it was pretty cool to see the car popsicle. the structure is in danger of being torn down to build a walgreens. i hope that they don't decide to do that. it may be an eyesore to some, but it's kind of a cool landmark. a little fun fact is that the top car is the artist's own car.
