halloweenie. it's over. (sigh)
this is the first year i've actually liked halloween and it's all because i've seen it through the eyes of a kid again. jack was SOOO excited about it this year and it was all he talked about for days. mike took he and charlie around and i guess just ran to every house yelling trick or treat and thank you and was just out of his mind excited. very cool. he was just as excited to hand out the candy to the trick or treaters when they came to the door and greeted them with a big ol' "Happy Halloween!"... i was impressed at how "big boy" he all of a sudden has become.
he had his fall program at preschool yesterday- i do have pics and video but need a moment or two to actually download. i'll get to it. he did great there. i had no idea he knew most of the words to the pledge of alligience or that he knew 10 different songs. by the end he had pulled off parts of his costume and was banging himself on the head with it and picking his nose, but so were all the other 3 year old. but again, "big boy" stuff all the way. we're so proud.
for a kid who was in speech for 2 years he has come a long way. he's a funny, witty kid too. i love that.
and check this out- celebrities- "they are just like us!" (that was for you, mike. i know you read but never comment) http://planethiltron.com/
after tomorrow's day of halloween de-tox i leave for springfield for the library conference. can i just tell you how excited i am to wake up saturday morning, by myself, with no child waking me up. geri and i plan to catch up and girl it up for a day or two without kids.....it will be like heaven for a moment or two, though i know it'll seem empty not to have them with me. i'll be anxious to get back home on saturday afternoon.
