yes. that IS the same northern illinois university that awarded me a master's degree, where my inlaws studied to be teachers back in the 60s, where i met some of my best (and likely life long) friends...
how sad.
i have not seen any names of students or instructors (victims) yet. i likely do not know any of the students. it was a geology 104 class, so they were probably just beginning their college experience at niu. it was in a building i visited rarely on campus, since i did not live there and only took my grad classes in one or two buildings.
but still. what the he** is going on in the world today? first, in tinely park, now in dekalb... each about 45 min. away from me.

I so wish I didn't know how you felt, but I do, what with the mall shooting here... what IS going in this country? So sad. I'm thinking of you.
