remember how about 2 years ago that I told you that comcast blows?
well, they still do, but we don't have other options.
however, i WILL tell you how much i heart verizon. i'm not kidding. not once, ever had we had a problem with their customer service. today, my phone started acting all batshit crazy- it was dialing people at random, multiple times, then shooting garbled junk in their ears... it made people think i was pranking them 10 times in a row. i couldn't even dial *611 for verizon help so i called verizon for help (on a landline). they were super nice, walked me through a bunch of things, and when none of that worked (including resetting the whole thing) they offered to send me a new phone. now, our "new every 2" contract ends july 10 anyway, so we're within a month, so it's not THAT far of a stretch for them, and i did end up increasing our package just a tiny bit since our package included zero messaging and 400 shared minutes, which we went over each month....we have several friends who text us (and we have to pay for that incoming AND outgoing texts) and that was jacking up our bill anyway.
anyway- the cool part is that we were interested in phones that had qwerty keyboards, so we can text back easier (now that we increased our package and all...) and with our teacher discounts we already get we were able to each get a new SWEET phone for WAY less than the prices on the website. We could have gotten an extra sweet touchpad phone for $70 more but i thought i should stay a little practical.
also.. drumroll please, i actually finished a book this summer! i have been a jen lancaster fan since her first + second books, bitter is the new black and bright lights, big ass. her books are hilarious- laugh out loud funny- love her books. watch this video and you'll see the woman behind the books... and she's from chicago too, which makes her books even better cause she talks about places i know.
thanks to a little downtime this weekend at the dunes, which has no computer (which i both love and hate) and no air conditioning (which i just plain hate), but a baby who still naps in the afternoon and somebody who has to stay at the house to be with him, that gives me some time to read! that part i do enjoy because i home i don't take the time to sit and read (not that there really IS any time to do that) except at night, which then the pile of books next to my bed and my tivo fight for my attention. but i mean really, how many marathons of jon and kate + 8 can i watch this summer?
